The 21st Annual Spring Buffet Fundraiser was held on Sunday, April 19, 2009, with an outstanding attendance. This is The Common Ministry's major annual fundraising event and a major fellowship event for the Pullman church community and the wonderful supporters of the Common Ministry's work.
The Buffet/Auction Committee came up with some great innovations for this year's event. The changes began with the change in venue -- our event was held at the Gladish Community Center in their View Room. Another change was having Council Members, Endowment Board Members, and other supporters hosting tables at the catered dinner and coming up with their own guest list. This innovation created a diverse crowd to enjoy the evening of camaraderie!
Another innovation was having seven outstanding desserts auctioned off; table guests went together and bid on them. Two desserts went for $150 each and several for $70 each. Plates of cookies baked by our students were seerved to those tables not winning the bid on one of our special desserts.
Numerous comments were offered by guests saying what a great time they had; we were fortunate to have as guests many of our long-term Ministry supporters and fundraiser attendees as well as many folks new to our annual function.
Our thanks go out to our many supporters and to all those who provided items for our live auction, our silent auction, and our raffles. Special thanks to those who made the winning bids for our many outstanding items.
